Service Learning Video
"The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see."
- Alexandra K. Trenfor
One of the best things about teaching (especially teaching history) is seeing the different ways the material is used and interpreted by the each student. Every student brings different experiences and perspectives that are invaluable to effective teaching. I have a passion for learning that has been fostered by my experiences in the classroom, both as a student and a teacher, and it is that passion that I want to bring to my subject. I know that not every student will be interested in every topic I will introduce (to be honest, I've always found certain time periods and events more intriguing that others) but I want to make sure that every student finds something they are interested in, something they want to explore. And while we won't have the time in class to dig into everything that each student finds interesting, I want to make sure that they know how to go about doing their own research to satisfy their curiosity and keeping them learning well outside of my class.
This year I will be teaching AP Government, Ancient Western Civilizations, and Service Learning. I'm very excited to be at Hudson High School and I look forward to meeting everyone who comes into my classroom!
I hope everyone has a good year!
P.S. - Don't forget to join Archaeology and Dungeons and Dragons Club!
